[SOLVED] Help… can't turn on DHCP Client!
I wonder if anyone can help me with this problem. I've just had a new cable connection installed but I can't connect! (I've never had cable before.)
The guy on the phone told me to type "ipconfig" into the DOs prompt, which gave the IP address: 0.0.0.0. (Which is not right, apparently.) He then told me to look up "DHCP Client" in the services, but the service status is "stopped" and it can't be started (I get "Error 1068: The dependency service failed to start). Can anyone here help me to get it working? The cable company guy told me to take my computer into a PC repair shop and let them fix it, but I'd rather just ask people online for their help. (I'm having to borrow a friend's laptop just so I can get online.) Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks. |
