Connecting router to PC
I am trying to connect my new Belkin Router to a PC using a 5e snaglass networking cable. One end fits the router fine but the other end does not fit the PC end as the cable end is too large to connect into the internet connection on the PC. Am I being stupid, as all documentation does not mention different connection types for different ends. My current modem is connected via a USB. Can anyone advise, thank you

Re: Connecting router to PC
That's because you are probably trying to plug the Ethernet cable into a modem connection.
If you are SURE you are connecting to the Ethernet jack, try a little pressure (not a lot). Sometimes the jacks are pretty tight.

Re: Connecting router to PC
thank you for that, I think that it must be a modem connection in both my PC's. My connected PC is via a modem with USB and my old PC was also connected via a modem with USB. So I now suspect that I possibly don't have any suitable H/W in place, damn. Further investigations are obvoiusly required,
, thanks againRay |
