ethernet port
hi i use aol9 windows xp i just installed sp2 again on my pc i can get on the internet with my wireless laptop but i am using the thomson st585v6 router and when connect the rg yellow cable from my pc to the router any slot 1.2.3 or 4 the light comes on on both my router and the back of the pc were the enternet lead goes. When i turn of my wireless on the laptop and connect the enternet lead to it it works fine . i also cant get to the thomson webpage through my pc (why wont it let me get there) but on my laptop i can.on my pc i type in speedtouch.lan and tryed the 192. thing code it says address not found and when i have the enternet lead connected to the pc and go to run cmd ipconfig i only get media,,,,media disconnected. i dont get no ip address or gateway address and when i try to install the broadband wireless cd it says it couldnt find the enternet port. could it be broke , can i run any tests on my enternet port are download a new driver are something for it how do i fix this. please if anyone can help feel free to post me back thanksxxxx
