Issues!!!

Hi,

I just got a new computer from Cyperpower.com with the Gigabyte GN-WP01GS PCI WLAN Card for my desktop.

I previously had a laptop from HP that worked flawlessly with my wireless Netgear Gateway , so I expected no issues as this was a brand new computer.

Both my laptop and desktop were right next to each other so I could try and narrow the issue happening. The laptop connected with near perfect strength, while the desktop which had trouble even locating the router, would only connect at VERY poor signal strength, and barely function online.

The other odd issue is that when you click "Connect to a network" and it shows the other wireless networks in your range, the laptop showed multiple ones as is normal from other neighbors....but the desktop, which was literally next to the laptop had only one network, with 1 bar for that signal.

I've spent 2 days trying to figure this issue out. I'm usual able to figure the problem out with this kind of stuff, but I'm not an expert either.

Please help! I'm about to have a tech come from Charter to help but they want to charge me. Much appreciate. - Ben

Re: Issues!!!

First step would be to change the channel on the router, I like channels 1, 6,or 11 in the US.
