D-Link DWA-547 / Will Upgrading Antennas Help??
Hi,
I have a D-Link RangeBooster N™ 650 DWA-547: http://www.dlink.co.uk/?go=jN7uAYLx/...PhJkwTsu7cZg== Im having a bit of trouble with getting "Good" signal from my router from 2 rooms away. I have a Netgear DG834N Router so I should be getting speeds of up to 270mbps across the network, but I get around 120mbps. If I move the router directly insight of the computer, I can get speeds of up too 270mbps. Although this is on the floor of a hall way. I was thinking of upgrading to new and stronger antennas for my wireless D-Link DWA-547 PCI adapter. Will this improve signal for network? Or are the antennas only supposed to be upgraded on the router?? (I no you cant upgrade the antennas on my router). ![]() These are the antennas: https://pc-stop.co.uk/product/d-link...ternal-antenna The standard ones with the D-Link DWA-547 PCI adapter are 2DBI and these are 5DBI. Will this get me better signal?? Thanks Jon Last edited by bailey808; 10-17-2008 at 05:41 AM. |
