USB 2.0 to Cat 5
I have a 30 ft run of cat 5 (cable only, no connectors yet) from my desk to a closet where I want to locate a usb scanner (or printer/scanner). Can I splice a cut-in-half usb cable on to each cat 5 end? Are there usb plugs/jacks that can be connected to the cat 5?

Nope, it'll never work with that much cable.
