Strange Wireless
I have no idea what has happened to my wireless adater, my warrenty ends in about 12 days so if there is a problem I want it fixed. Over a day ago, I was using the wireless and it pretty much stopped working, like wouldn't connect to any site. I had simular problems with it before, uninstall and reinstalled it usually worked. This timeit refused to reinstall and just timed out. Then over time I got it so that it would install but device manager said it wasn't working right. Then after that I got it to install right but it would never find any networks (and there is like 5 different ones here - live by a college, and I also tried in the same room as the router). Then just before I was playing with the settings, changed it to only B (its a B/G adapter) and it dected the networks here, then changed it back to b/g and it still worked. Then I restarted the laptop (I had it in safe mood to see if that would help) and it still worked, but when I tried to conect to the router (ours) and it was slow to conect and wouldn't load any webpages. Diconect, reconect and it finally works. I'm actually using it now.
I'm just afraid that it's going to go out after a week or something and I would have to pay for a new part. The wireless adapater in question is a Realtek RTL8187B 802.11b/g using a usb 2 port. (It came with the laptop from toshiba) I would really appericate any thoughts, I don't want to call them since I know they would favor the software side of the issue over it being hardware, but I'm not sure which it is. If you need more infromation, I'm willing to provide it. Thank you |

Re: Strange Wireless
Impossible to say, though I'd register the complaint with the manufacturer so you are on record that the issue happened before the warranty expired.
