D-Link G520 refuses to connect

I have 2 computers in the house, just got the high-speed set up after moving, and having a problem. My laptop (which I'm on) is connecting to my linksys router just fine. My desktop, however, refuses to do so. It will 'see' the network, but won't connect. I have tried connecting through D-Link's program (disabling windows automatic blah blah) or letting Windows do it. I've tried automatic settings, or manually entering DNS and IP settings (using the numbers I get with an ipconfig /all on the laptop, which is working, and just changing the last number of the IP).
I've also run a winsock fix utility after some google scouring, but still no dice. Also downloaded and installed the newest drivers from dlink.com.

I don't know what else to try. Thanks in advance!

edit: Windows XP, SP2, if that doesn't show up somewhere else in the post from my profile. Also, card is a rev B.

Re: D-Link G520 refuses to connect

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.

What country are you located in.
Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
Model numbers can usually be obtained from the label on the device.
Connection type, wired or wireless.
If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP1-SP2, Vista, etc.

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?

If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?

On any affected computer, I'd also like to see this:

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD to open a command prompt:

Type the following commands:

PING 206.190.60.37

PING yahoo.com

NBTSTAT -n

IPCONFIG /ALL

Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter.
Paste the results in a message here.

If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.

Re: D-Link G520 refuses to connect

What country are you located in.
Name of your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
-Verizon DSL

Make and exact model of the broadband modem.
-Verizon DSL modem GT701C

Make and exact model and hardware version of the router (if a separate unit).
-Linksys BEFW1154 Ver4

If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2)
-WPA Pre Shared, TKIP

Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP1-SP2, Vista, etc.
-Working laptop - Vista
-Not-working Desktop - XP Pro SP2

Please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages.
I don't get any error message. It just says it's attempting to connect to my network, and then after a couple
minutes of trying, it just gives up, it seems. No error message, it sees the network, it just won't connect
to it. D-Link wireless card, latest driver, router has newest firmware update. Tried manually setting the IP or DNS through both Windows and the DLink utility, or letting windows manage everything automatically. No dice.

If you're using a wireless connection, have you tried a direct connection with a cable to see if that changes the symptoms?
-With a direct connection, my desktop will pick it up just fine.

If there are other computers on the same network, are they experiencing the same issue, or do they function normally?
My laptop functions just fine.

Re: D-Link G520 refuses to connect

This computer doesn't seem to have a wired NIC, is it disabled? Did you try this specific computer on a wired connection?

I'd disable ALL encryption and other security on the wireless router and see if you can connect. You may be blocking yourself with something like MAC filtering.
