Router as gate to the Internet?

Hi there,

Can you please help?

I can and did create (and use) a simple network - I mention it below to let you know what I can - not much really and very little more then described:

1. The Internet from a cable network to the "WAN" port of LinkSys's WRT54GL router.
2. Two desktops connected by Ethernet cable to 2 out of 4 "LAN" ports.
3. One laptop connected by WiFi network of the said router.
All systems are WinXP SP2.

It was no problem for me with creating the above, naming the network, assigning IPs, etc. I even flashed the router with DD-WRT v.23 without bricking the device. I can even wake the desktops over the Internet from my laptop (switching off its on-board WiFi module) when I connect it to the Internet via a nearby free hotspot, by means of a little network "card" - a USB dongle with 10 m coax and dual-quad antenna I made one evening.
After setting port-forwarding in my router I can even power-up (and power-down) the desktops using a free WOL server and work on them remotely using AnyPlaceControl application.

The problem:
I want to experiment connecting my laptop to the Internet via a hotspot but using a "stronger" (then the "dongle" or on-board WiFi module) device - my second WRT54GL router.
This is just for a situation where I stay in some hotel and my laptop's on-board WiFi module is too "weak" - it happened once and I had to go down with my laptop to the lobby to even check my mail.

So if it is possible at all, those of you who know how to do it please advise.
I have already been advised like so "make client-bridge" but it is about a different setup.
My setup starts with: laptop>Ethernet cable>router>router's antenna>some WiFi network>The Internet.
But I am not even 100% where to stick the Ethernet cable's plug? "WAN" or "LAN" port??? And how to configure.
I am sure that if it is possible, it has to be simple.

Thanks.
