Confused Di-624s

Hi all. Need your help. I have set up my home network quite well. Have internet and printer server up and going. What has me stumped is I have connected a Maxtor Basics Jade 250GB Ext HD to the DI-624S via the usb port. Now my config screen shows the HD as there in the Device Info but both my pc (XP SP2) and Laptop (Vista Home Basic) dosn't show the Ext HD in either Network. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Di-624s

Can you access the hard disk connected locally to a computer? Note that I believe that router can only access FAT/FAT32 formatted disks, not NTFS volumes.

Yes, if i connect directly to my PC, the HD is regognised. I have reformatted the HD from NTFS to FAT32.

Re: Di-624s

Still can't connect? I think I'd email D-Link tech support and ask the question. I've never tinkered with that router, so I don't know any particular pitfalls.
