Re: Newtwork Card Light Not On??
ethan1991,
I'm not quite sure what you're looking for. The LED (light) on most network adapters indicates either LINK status or LINK speed. In some cases, there are 2 LEDs on a network adapter - depending on color/status these LEDs can indicate LINK STATUS, LINK SPEED and/or activity. If you're plugging your NIC into a router, hub, switch or broadband modem and NON of the LEDs are lighting up - then you've got a problem with the physical connection (cable, connectors, etc) or there's a problem with the NICs hardware or drivers. If you provide more information - I might be able to provide more assistance. - John |

Re: Newtwork Card Light Not On??
ethan1991,
With your integrated network adapter plugged into one of the free ports on your router - open up "Control Panel", Network connections, click View, Details. Locate your Local Area Network Connection - does it say connected under status? If not, what is listed under status? I'm just trying to figure out if our network hardware is establishing a link with our router. - John

Re: Newtwork Card Light Not On??
The ability to do WOL is dependent on the capability of the machine in question. Most newer machines will keep the NIC powered up from the standby supply to support WOL, however add-on network cards frequently do not have the capability.
What is the EXACT make/model of the motherboard and/or system in question?

Re: Newtwork Card Light Not On??
ethan1991,
You stated that you're connecting to your wireless router, but are you still having connection problems (i.e. cannot get on the Internet)? If so, please reply with the make/model of your PC, model of your Linksys router, type of broadband connection (i.e. DSL, Cable?), Verision and service pack of Windows you're running (i.e. XP, Vista, SP1, SP2, etc.). If you're still having problems - I'm sure we can help you, but we'll need more information about your hardware/software. - John
