Off and On Connection
Ok, I'm running two Desktops on a Lynksis WRT54G Router. One's wired, the other wireless.
The problem is, I'll have perfectly fine connection for a while, then, out of the blue, I will randomly loose all connection for one or both computers. I can't distinguish any kind of pattern as to when or why this happens. I keep using Lynksys' EasyLink Advisor program to attempt to fix the connection, but it just suggests that I have a cable unplugged somewhere. The only method that I have discovered is to unplug both the router and modem from their respective power, and let them re-boot. Oftentimes, this is simply a temporary fix, and, within ten or so minutes, I am rebooting them again. When I loose this connection, I am not even able to connect to the router through my browser. Help!!! Additional information provided as needed... |

Re: Off and On Connection
Sounds like the router is having a problem.
Some things you can try here.
Many times these measures will resolve a lot of intermittent issues.

Re: Off and On Connection
I did all three, and attempted to reconnect my wireless computer to the network. My wireless computer told me that I had "Little or No Connectivity," while I got an error message on my wired computer telling me that there was an "IP Conflict on the Network."
When I first tried to reply to this board, my connection was entirely lost. I reset both the modem and router, and now the wired connection is working fine. I know you'll want the ipconfig/all for both computers., but I must go to work now. I'll have it when I get back. |
