Major Connection Problem

Hello Tech Supports,

I just re-installed Windows XP Home Edition and have my serial and activation squared away. But I seem to have lost my internet connection and I seem to be having a big problem connecting back to what it was at normal. Now I'm on my laptop using my router through my modem just normal. But I have a semi-old desktop probably 2000-20003ish but anyways, I do not have an ethernet plug-in in the back of my PC, so I'm running it though a USB 10/100 Fast Ethernet Adapter.

So when I go to :

Control Panel> System> Hardware> Device Manager
Other Devices-
Mutlimedia Controller
Mutlimedia Video Controller
USB 10/100 Fast Ethernet
It has the YELLOW question mark with the exclamation mark on it.
Which IMO means that my computer is not recognizing it. Also to top it off, I do not have my router CD to just reinstall it like so.

I'm working with a DSS-5+ router 10/100 Fast Ethernet Switch

Please anyone I need your help. I've called D-Link, Microsoft, Dell, My ISP. I would highly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Metaru Gia

PS: Sorry I didn't see this one before I posted the first one.
