problems with wireless stick

hey people please bare with me as i have never used vista before! I am trying to connect to an existing wireless network using a wireless stick. i plugged the stick into the computer and the computer says the drivers were installled successfully although i dont know how because i didnt even insert a disk! im not sure if the stick came with any hardware as the adapter isnt mine. when i go to the start menu and click on Connect To, the connect to a network window pops up and its not picking up the wireless connection, in fact it said it wasnt picking up anything straight away so i dont even think it tried to pick it up. what should i do? The product is:
ADVENT
Model No: ADE-AD2
Product Code: 391515
Rating: 5V 88mA

Please help me!
Thanks

Re: problems with wireless stick

I think this is for the wireless keyboard or for the wireless mouse...

Re: problems with wireless stick

Yep, that's a wireless keyboard/mouse adapter, it's not an 802.11 network adapter.
