[SOLVED] No WLAN connection after PC boot
Hi everyone, my first post to this site
I have a problem with my PC. I have a laptop which I connect to the Internet via WLAN. Problem is after I boot my PC, the WLAN device does not start up, and have to manually switch it off and on with the external switch. Then after about 30sec I get a connection. The PC is about 8 months old, and worked fine until about 1 month ago. OK the problem is not a disaster, but annoying, and in my experience is a precursor for something more serious to come along. Technical stuff Toshiba Satellite A100-720 1GB Ram, 1.66Ghz Vista Home Basic 32bit In built WLAN Atheros AR5006EG Wireless Network Adapter I updated the driver so it is the latest (7.3.1.61) , and I turned off the Power Save options. So basically how do I get the Wireless adapter to start working at PC boot up. Thx |

Re: No WLAN connection after PC boot
Hi
Some more information. As well as after booting, I get the problem if the computer goes into hibernation. I used netsh commands to see the setting of this, and the connection mode for the WLAN adapter is set to connect automatically. I have no idea why the adapter is not switching itself on on boot up. |

OK figured it.
The power save option is resetting itself. Not sure why, I need to check with Atheros , but when I get the power save option to to stay on No power save, the WLAN starts on boot up. |
