Linksys Compact G-Wireless WUSB54GC Adaptor hangs every few seconds

About once every 30 seconds, my internet will hang for just a brief moment. While this isn't an issue while browsing on the internet, I play a lot of online games including FPS's, so just a brief interruption in internet usually gets me killed. This didn't happen with my older wireless adapter but it's broken now so I can't use it. I'm assuming that means it's something to do with the new adapter, any ideas?

Are you using Windows WZC or the 3rd party wireless client to control the connection? If both are active, they'll repeatedly disconnect and reconnect.

Try changing the router channel.
