Upload speed differences..Help
I'm not sure this is a networking problem or a hardware problem but here goes.
I have 2 HP pc's conected to a Lynksys router witch we have DSL through. Download speed is aprox the same on both machines (1800kbps) no complaints, but upload speed on 1 machine is in the 540kbps range and the other tops out around 300kbps. We pay for a 2mb download and 640kbps upload. I would like to find out why my 1 PC's upload is so much slower. I have by-passed the router..straight to modem..same thing. I have replaced and swapped all cables...same thing. The PC in question used to connect at the same, I recently Formatted and Re-Installed and I think thats when the problem started. Both Pc's have onboard Realtek ethernet. I installed my normal drivers and also tryed an updated driver from Realtek...same thing. I tryed CableNut tweaking tools..no change...Can anybody post some sugestions PLEASE |

Re: Upload speed differences..Help
LOL u are getting more upload kbps then the actually statistic of 640.... Really u should be only getting 320 from each if u have two comp's hooked to one modem... What are u downloading from and uploading from ( Limewire) which programs.... If u download while u upload the download actually takes away from the upload.. More files are being downloaded in which the upload will always come down in speed. U can slow the download and increase the upload rate if u like.. What program are u running using to download first????

Re: Upload speed differences..Help
These are results from speed tests that I am going off of. I personaly don't do alot of uploading, I mainly wanted to make sure that I am uploading and downloading at the max I can and when I found that things had changed I was curious what may have happened and if anyone would have sugestions. Why would one machine preform as should and one not? As I stated this is while hooked directly to the DSL modem also not sharing a connection. I'm not sure you understood my post.
