DUN\SVCHOST causing high CPU use
I have an issue with Dial Up Networking\Network connections eating up CPU time ( anywhere from 45-90% depending on PC). It looks like it is associated with the large number of entries I have in the phonebook ( about 550) , the more I add the longer SVCHOST runs at a high CPU usage. I don't have any choice with regards to the number of entries , that is how many sites I have to connect to and I need to use PPP connections. I am open to using an alternate program to connect but haven't had any luck finding something that supports PPP connections.
I was originally using a Tacserve RAS server but tried a dedicated external modem and am experiencing the same response issues. Anyone have any suggestions to get DUN to behave or know of a comm program that can handle PPP? |
