no ethernet no wifi, can COM1 do it?
Hello,
I've got an old Sony Vaio PCG-F801. I have no wifi, no lan. I have two USB ports, LTP and COM1 ports. I want to replace Windows2000 by debian linux (Goodbye-microsoft.com) but doing so needs to have a instant internet. I have a router, but I don't have LAN or Wifi! In Win98 I think it is possible to connect two computers and share internet. I want to install Debian and share internet with my friends pc -WindowsXP installed-. Please help, I ftp-backed up my data. I am a poor guy. COM1 cable is very cheap, while lan is  !!!! I will be very thankful!!! Take care |

Buy a PCMCIA Ethernet card, this isn't going to fly.
