Hi guys. Okay, I'm not the least bit computer savy at times so bare with me. I have come home for Christmas break from college. I wanted to get online with my dell laptop xp service pack 2. I have road runner cable internet. Last year I connected one time with the same settings to the internet. Now that I tried again it came back with Limited or no connectivity. When you go to the support tab when I clicked on local area connection and it comes up with numbers for everything down to the DNS Server. I have gone to my boyfriend house and used my laptop there, he has wireless dsl so I know it can work with other connections outside the college. My mom's laptop is connected to our ethernet cable and it works fine. I don't know where to go next. Please help! Last edited by mandygurlie88 : 12-15-2007 at 06:09 AM. |

Please supply the following info, exact make and models of the equipment please.
Make and model of the broadband modem. Make and model of the router. Connection type, wired or wireless. If wireless, encryption used, (none, WEP, WPA, or WPA2) Make/model of your computer. Version and patch level of Windows on all affected machines, i.e. XP-Home (or XP-Pro), SP2, Vista, etc. Also, please give an exact description of your problem symptoms, including the exact text of any error messages. On any problem computer, I'd also like to see this: Start, Run, CMD to open a command prompt: Type the following command: IPCONFIG /ALL Right click in the command window and choose Select All, then hit Enter. Paste the results in a message here. If you are on a machine with no network connection, use a floppy, USB disk, or a CD-RW disk to transfer a text file with the information to allow pasting it here.
