[SOLVED] USB works but not CAT-5. Need internet advice.

I can't get my internet connected using CAT-5. I want the higher bandwidth that it provides. However, when I plug it in, no IP address. USB works great with the cable modem, Windows XP, laptop.

Is your ethernet drivers installed? Go into device manger and look
for ethernet, see if there are any red or yellow flags next to the
device.

Did you power cycle the modem? That's a MANDATORY step when changing from USB to Ethernet connections on the modem.
