Network cable unplugged
I recently had satellite broadband installed and the tech plugged my laptop into it and everything was fine. I now wish to use my desktop PC through the cable and then wireless my laptop. However when I plug the cable into the PC is keeps saying network cable unplugged. Although I can take it out of pcand plug into laptop and itworks fine.
My pc has an onboard via rhine ll fast ethernet adaptor and I thought it may have not been working so I disabled it and bought a USB LAN plug to try that but that didnt work either. I have now enabled the rhine again and going through my device manager, show hidden devices I came up with this list under network adaptors. - direct parallel - dm9601 usb to fast ethernet adaptor - packet scheduler miniport - RAS Async Adaptor - via PCI 10/100 mb fast ethernet adaptor - packet sceduler miniport - via rhine ll fast ethernet adaptor - wan minipost (IP) - wan miniport (ip) packet scheduler miniport - wan miniport (L2tp) - wan miniport (pppoe) - wan miniport (pptp) Help !! |

Re: Network cable unplugged
The issue here is the satellite modem must have it's power cycled to connect to a different device. I'd consider a broadband router to allow you to connect both of them without continually having to cycle power to the modem.
