Can't get tp-link card to work

OK this is what I have
XP sp2
I have a my essentials wireless g router hooked up to my DSL modem, it works great with my laptop.
So I installed a tp-link 11b/g wireless adapter in my desktop PC, my computer recognizes the card and sees the wireless account with a strong signal. I click to connect and it already has the WPA passcode entered but it will not connect. no reason why. I have manually entered the code, I am sure its right cause it works on the laptop. The card says wep, wpa and wpa2. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong.
HELP?

Re: Can't get tp-link card to work

Try it with no encryption and get it working that way first. Then add in the WPA.
