Lost...lost...lost
I thought that I had a cable problem because my desktop did connect to the internet anymore, so I made a appt with my cable company. Then I figured that I would disconnect my eithernet cord and plugged it into my laptop, well...it worked. The first thing that I did was go to the store and buy a eithernet port card for my desktop, I followed all the directions and installed it, along with the disc for the drivers. Plugged the cord back into my desktop and modemn, and it still says "page cannot be displayed."
Can anyone tell me what I would look for next or replace on my desktop.? Thanks Mike |

I am not the smartest computer person in the world, but from reading other posts I think that I didn't need to purchase a eithernet card but it's too late now!! I just don't know how to get my desktop conected to the net like my laptop.

Re: Lost...lost...lost
Click on Start . . Run . . type netsh winsock reset catalog
That will reset WINSOCK entries to installation defaults: then type netsh int ip reset reset.log That will reset TCP/IP stack to installation defaults
