Not connecting at all anymore

I have a Hp Onmibook 6100 series: I am using a linksy router, along with the Network card. MY PROBLEM IS THIS:

I have a new Toshiba with a built in WIFI. That computer connects fine with my router. I just baught my son the Omnibook 6100, It does not have a built in WIFI, so i have to use the network card. I installed the cd and followed all the instructions and everything went through fine, and I connected to the internet. I then turned off my computer for a while, then turned it back on and had to restart everything all over again, like It had never installed correctly. I had to talk with a technician to get reconnected again. Everytime I log off the computer and turn it back on its the same thing every time. After speaking with all the technicians throughout the day just to get reconnected, they finally came to a conclusion that it was my net work card. I went to the store and purchased a new card and installed it, everything went fine and I was connected to the internet again. I was only connected for five minutes though, so it was back to the drawing board again. I finally gave up and need everyones help please. THE FUNNY THING IS THOUGH; I CAN CONNECT THE LABTOP STRAIGHT TO THE HARD WIRE AND IT CONNECTS TO THE INTERNET FINE. I DID THAT JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT IT WAS NOT THE COMPUTER. SO I CAN HOOK UP TO THE NET THROUGH A HARD WIRE AND STAY ON FOR EVER, BUT NOT THROUGH WIRELESS. I AM NOT SURE IF IT IS MY SETTINGS OR ANYTHING ELSE, BUT PLEASE HELP.

PS: Please remember.....my laptop with the built in WIFI works fine

Thank you,

Mike

Re: Not connecting at all anymore

What type of network card?

It is always best to use the same brands when using wireless equipment.
