Microsoft Broadband Network Adapter No IP
I recently got a router for my apartment so that my roommates and I could access our cable internet with wireless cards. I got my roommate's laptop working fine, but mine is having serious problems.
I should preface this by letting you all know that I am working on a Compaq from 99 that still runs on Windows 98. Basically, I installed the Microsoft Broadband Network Adapter that is a wireless-B. Everything seemed to install okay, but the network manager on my computer is not picking up an IP address. Therefore, it's not connecting. Can anyone tell me how to get this working so that I can use the internet on my computer? Any advice is appreciated. I looked through some of the articles on the Microsoft website today, but none of them were really helpful. Thanks! Anica |

Re: Microsoft Broadband Network Adapter No IP
What kind of encryption did you enable on the router? Did you try connecting with no encryption until you get it connected? I suspect that WPA will be incompatible with W98, so you'll have to use WEP.
