Resolved: Connection problem

Last night i stayed at a mates house and i left my computer on all night with the internet left on. I wasnt downloading or anything i just forgot about it. Anyway i
came back this morning and i found my internet was not working, i restart my computer and still nothing. I use the repair thing and nothing works. The strange thing is in my network connections it shows my internet is connected (its a LAN connection as im in university flats). My network card is part of my motherboard but to check my problem i tried a network card that i have plugged in for no reason. This works fine, however with this connection i cant seem to connect to any servers, ive tried to play online games and i just cant connect with this network card.

So could anyone tell me how to get my normal motherboard network card connection fixed or how to be able to use my other network card so i can connection to servers.

Comp info.
XP 64
bought network card: Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast Ethernet NIC
Motherboard network card: VIA Rhine II Compatible Fast Ethernet Adapter

Have you tried going into the command prompt and type

ipconfig /release

then type:

ipconfig /renew

someone told me that, its fixed now. xD

In the future if this happens again, you can either release/renew via ipconfig in a command prompt or "Repair" the connection by right-clicking your network connection icon in your system notification area (or under the Network section via Control Panel) and select Repair.
