Weird Xbox Live problem
I tried signing on to Xbox Live about 5 minutes ago, and I couldn't get in. I ran the tests, said everything was confirmed until it got to MTU. It said to restart the tests to see if it would fix itself, but that didn't work. So, then it said to make the the MTU was at least at 1374. Where can I change that? This has never happened before, I'm pretty sure no one touched our router or would ever mess with this.. so I don't know what happened.
(I'm not sure if I put this under the right section.) |

Re: Weird Xbox Live problem
Ok well good thing is you did post in the correct section ;)
Mmm first of all you can change the MTU under your router's or modem's configuration page which should be accessible through any web browser depending on what IP address the device has... just type that in the address bar (Look in the manual) By default the MTU on a cable connection should be around 1500 The default MTU on a DSL connection should be 1492 Now for the X-Box live... Now depending on what you are using (IF you are using a router) you will probably have to open ports for X-Box live to work correctly through its firewall...well anyways if it has one... those should be ports 3074 & 88 (Both TCP and UDP) Hope it helps... |

Re: Weird Xbox Live problem
Well, here's something I didn't know. Microsoft decided they felt like shutting off access to Xbox Live to patch it soooo there really was no problem, it's working fine now. I appreciate your help though
