Re: cannot acquire network address

I have a Toshiba M35X but do not have SP2. My computer was slowing to a crawl, so after trying every thing else, I wiped the hard drive clean and reinstalled. After reinstalling from the Toshiba start-up disk, I cannot make an internet connection. Therefore I have not been able to connect to Microsoft to download SP2.
The system keeps saying that it is "acquiring a network address" but never does. I have tried the instructions posted here for SP2 with no results. Can anyone help?

Even though it appears you're having the same problem, please start a new thread when you have a new issue. It's very difficult to keep two problems straight and who's working on what in a single thread.

Tell us something about the environment. Broadband, dial, cable, dsl? Do you have a router? Is this wired or wireless?
