Network problem solving challenge 2007 !

Hi , This is the problem :

c1 = old stationary w/d-link wlan and Ethernet controller

c2 = Laptop Packard bell found in the trash

c1 has wlan connected to the internet

c2 is connected via Crossed network cable to c1s ethernet

Both are running on Win xp

The problem :

Gaining internett connection on c2 TROUGH c1 Ethernet card (sharing the wlan between them)

Status:
c1 and c2 is connected but c1 looses internet connection (eventhough the wireless is connected) c1 must disable the cable connection to c2 to gain internet connectivity .

Eh.. if anything is unclear please forgive. ask me about details and i will elaborate , all help his greatly appreciated .

Re: Network problem solving challenge 2007 !

I seem to lack this option:

7. Click the Advanced tab.
8. Under Internet Connection Sharing, select the Allow other network users to connect through this computer's Internet connection check box.

the only option in advanced tab is the firewall settings .

Re: Network problem solving challenge 2007 !

Problem was resolved by using instructions on :http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306126/

at first i did not have the option : sharing my connection under the advanced tab, but that was because i forgot to activate the ethernet connection to c2 .

Also a CROSSOVER cable is needed between 2 connecting computers if you dont have a hub or router.
