Re: Netgear DG834G Problem
Out of curiosity who is your ISP. We must tell the world how good thier technical support is!!!!!
Ok this is better left to those who know more about networking than me I'm Hardware support. For my two bucks worth. Your router seems to be working. Your wireless seems to work as they can see each other. The problem is that your laptop needs to be told to connect using wireless not ethernet. Open internet explorer in the address bar type. HTTP://192.168.0.2 <Enter> hopefully you will get asked for user name and password these are Admin and password respectivley. If in doubt this information is on the sole plate of the router. At this point you should be able to see the Netgear setup page. The intenet settings should be OK as they work for cable. What we are trying to do here is not access the internet I'm trying to prove the wireless connection. If you get page not found, then the problem is more likely to be wireless setup again it's not the router that worked on cable. Work through the attached doc file as a check list. NOTE: I cannot accept any credit for the attached doc file the original was lifted from this group under a posting by Johnwill. All I did was convert it to a tick sheet.
