Linksys Wireless internet Problem
Hello there, I am a new member and have found this forum very helpful, but i now have a problem of my own.
I am not a computer expert so i don't know much of the lingo that gets passed around here, but if you can guide me through the process, I believe I can learn. Problem: I have three computers on a wireless network (Linksys) but my main computer loses connection entirely. My other computers don't experience these problems. This happens randomly, but some websites might trigger this to happen, such as myspace or yahoo mail or if i have multiple windows open, but as I said happens randomly. Also if I try to reconnect right after this happens, I can't and it becomes a big hassle to try to get it up and running again. On the otherhand, if I restart my computer its fine. This becomes very irritating as I don't know what the problem can be. I have trend micro pcillen, and no virus or spyware show up. I also run adaware and spybot seach and destroy and they show nothing. Thanks for the help. Hopefully you guys and gals can provide some insight into this. |

First the make and model of the computer?
Desktop or laptop? Go to the Control Panel, Network Connections, choose the wireless connection, click Properties, select and click Configure. Tell us what the wireless adapter information indicates. As for the router, exact model and hardware version. On the bottom of the router there should be a sticker with model and under the model it may indicate a version (v. X or ver. X) number. JamesO |
