Internal USB Network Card being detected as removable hardware?
My new computer is built on the Asus P5W DH Deluxe WiFi/AP, which has an internal USB Realtek 8187 wireless adapter included. Since it's internal USB, XP Pro deems it necessary to keep a "Safely Remove Hardware" icon up at all times in case I need to open up my PC and unplug my wireless adapter from the motherboard.
Is there any way I can tell XP Pro to take this specific device off of notice? I know how to "hide" the icon, but that isn't really a solution. As well, I'd rather not get rid of the icon entirely if possible because it can be rather important for sensitive USB devices. Disabling the device is also not an option because I connect to the internet wirelessly. Thanks guys.

You can hack the registry to remove the attribute that says it's removable, but I really don't have the details handy...
