Hi Is it actually "grinding" or whirring a lot? Have you re-installed windows? Have you cleared the BIOS? Peter |

How large a power supply do you have?
Check here to see if it is large enough. http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_sup....php?cmd=INTEL

You have done a pretty large upgrade so check out your PSU as suggested by Terrister first, but if that doesn't throw any light on the issue I would suggest downloading the hard-drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility (free from their website) and running it to check the drive out. You can use the same software to zero the drive completely and start afresh with installing windows, but I'm not sure that will help the "grinding" issue.
Is there any warranty left on the drive? Some have 3 or even 5 years on them? Peter |
