System Restore wont work. HELP !

Hi Everybody.

My Dad had some problems on the computer the other night regarding logging onto the net,

He phoned the support on the phone and they told him to delete the internet connection button under 'Network connections' and now he still cant log onto the net.

I said to save all the problems.... I would just use system restore (since I had about 10 restore points)

But I clicked 'restore my computer to an earlier time', chose the 'date' and when I click 'NEXT' (the final button to restore) it loads for a couple of seconds and then just stops. I tried it on every date on the calender... but no luck..

could anybody help please ?

Many Thanks,

-Anth

Have you tried running the utility in Safe Mode?
One or more of the System Restore files may be missing or corrupted. Go to www.support.microsoft.com, in the Search for Knowledge Base box on the upper left side of page, type KB302796, there you can get answers in helping to solve your problem. Good Luck!!

if system restore has become corrupted, you need to turn it off and back on and start afresh with restore points
if you deleted your network connection you need to reset it up again, contact your isp again and have them guide you through it

Try using the repair utility that comes on the Windows XP installation CD?
