Please Help...!

Hi,
I'm a self taught computer girl... so not all that computer knowledge savvy, but I learn quickly, and can understand if you break it down! Please can someone help.
I switched my computer off, to restart it as I couldn't eject a cd in the drive, and upon restarting it I got this message...

Isass.exe unable to locate component.

"this application failed to start because lsasrv.dll was not found"

I have read a few forums where it says to go to the start menu, but I only get as far as the microsoft start up flag, then it goes to blank screen, with the error message. I can't get the start menu.

Do I have a virus? Will I lose all my files?

Please help... I'm about to cry!!!!! Lost without my computer!

Insert your XP installation CD and boot up to the installation screen. Press "R" to bring up the recovery console. Once there, type in:

Code:

C:\>sfc /scannow

And see if this fixes the problem.
