Windows XP Crash, no internet, no system restore
My PC running XP is in a "safe mode like state", certain programs wont run and I cannot connect to the internet.
I turned on the computer this morning and many things are not working. The Internet will not connect. The bar at the bottom of the desktop is grey and plain like an older version and I cannot change that back. Apparently there are no checkpoints in my system restore even though it is running. I have tried booting in safe mode with networking, but no luck. My computer shows no Internet icon in the bottom corner in any start up modes. Also my antivirus program, Avast, has an icon in the bottom corner, but it is not functioning and I get an error message when I try and start it. My computer is out of warranty so I cannot call for technical support. Additional Details The error message Avast gives me is "The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error." |
