WLM 9 cuts internet connection

firstly im new here so id like to say hello to everyone :)

ok i expect there are many threads regarding the new WLM, i did search thru but my problems appear slightly different to others so threfore i started a new thread, any info needed please ask i am fine with working my pc but i really dont know an awful lot about when they go wrong...

ok my problem is as most of you will know we have to upgrade to the new version now, so i install it and it appears not to connect, however also my internet exploerer crashes and outlook express wont open. my internet connection is fine but it seems as tho its not there, ive been doing a system restore and things are back to normal.

there are a few things ive tried from reading various things, they include..... in a command promt typing - regsvr32 softpub.ll mssip32.dll initpki.dll
ive turned off the windows firewall, ive deleted browsing history.

if i leave the new messenger to try to sign in without success i get the error code 81000306

also if i do a troubleshoot at this point thru messenger it says 'host file contains wlm related entries which may interfere with name resolutiion' i click repair - nothin

so i really hope someone can help me, is this something at my end? i mean everything is perfect until i install the new WLM9

i have sp3 and have been to microsoft updates and installed all available.

the information was the same as the email i recieved from microsoft, unfortunatly none it worked :(

if i install the new wlm9 i cannot access the internet so the 1st step is impossible im afraid, i have to keep doing a system restore (back prior to installing new wlm) to access the internet...

any help would be gratefully appreciated

well try this steps
in internet explorer
tools
internet options
adavanced
under security
UNCHECK " check for server certification recovation "
UNCHECK " SSL 2.0 "
CHECK " SSL 3.0 "

and restart ur messenger and feed back

i have just checked those settings and it is as you suggested above already

i didnt try installing the wlm9 again as i assumed the settings would still be the same...
