blue screen safe mode boot loop!

Here's the story:
---Computer running windows XP got a virus.
---Was going to run a program that needed to run in Safe Mode
---When I booted in safe mode I got a blue screen
---I (stupidly) changed the settings so that the computer automatically booted into safe mode thinking that would change something.

Now I can't boot into windows! The computer automatically boots to safe mode and I always get a blue screen (error: 0X0000007b, 0Xf7c7B524, 0XC0000034, lots of 0's)

Question: How do I change my settings to NOT automatically boot to safe mode without accessing windows! I can't get back to MSCONFIG and know no other way to turn off the automatic safe-mode boot option.

Ughhhhh, I wish I hadn't done that! Please help me!

If you have a Windows XP installation disk, and wish to use the Recovery Console, see the following link ... (near the bottom of the page)
Problems that can occur by forcing Safe Mode using the System Configuration Utility
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...force_safemode

Otherwise, use a LIVE CD ...
Download Puppy Linux (105MB)
http://www.puppylinux.org/

When you have Puppy Linux burned to a CD, boot from the CD.
Load Puppy Linux into memory and use as a LIVE CD operating system: Do not install.
Navigate to C:\Boot.ini
Open the file: It is simply a text file, so use a text editor within Puppy Linux to open the file.
Delete the following switch: /safeboot:minimal
Save the file and close it.
Exit Puppy Linux and remove the CD.

Start your Windows system normally.

(If in any doubt, copy the content of the boot.ini file and post it here.)

Re: blue screen safe mode boot loop!

u can try to options
F8 on the black screen when u start up ur computer
and choose Normal mode or last good known configuration

option B : change ur Bios setting to the default values

once u open the BIOS screen ,, u will find Load default settings or sth like this, just choose and save changes, and it will automatically log into Normal mode instead of safe mode... if it keep giving blue screen,,, reinstall ur windows

No worries. Pleased to see your success.

You may wish to post in the Malware Removal Forum if you need any assistance with cleaning your system of malware.

Take care.
