lsass.exe another one sorry
A friend of mine dropped his gateway m685-e notebook with windows xp off with me to see if i can fix it. It stops during bootup after the first windows xp screen. It displays lsass.exe and if I remember correctly c0000005. I tried to boot in safe mode and last known good configuration, which didn,t work. now I'm getting "Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: c:\windows\system32\config\system. I assume I need to run system repair or reload windows. Long and the short of it, is this a sasser worm, and will it still be there when I get done. I have heard both ways. any help would be greatly appreciated.
