Dell 1100 windows restore
Hi, I am writing on this forum and believe me that you cannot imagine how desparate I am right now. I bought a brand new Dell and it arrived just a week ago, I have been using it for max 4 days.
From the beginning, the windows could not shut down properly. I could not install updates, windows did not work normally, I could not install other programs, many error reports, etc Restoring windows to previous points did not help So I decided to reinstall windows with my windows recovery cd. Since I do not have a cd drive on my Dell mini, I copied all files on a memory card, started windows setup and reinstalled windows. After I deleted original windows files, the setup told me that it does not have all important install files, but it was too late. After that I could start windows just once and that was the first and the last time. I cannot even start windows normally I know that there is a secret partition for restoring windows to factory settings but after pressing F8 and choosing directory service restore mode I get this Checking file system on C the volume is clean windows has finished checking the disk and that is it, nothing else... the screen stays like that forever I am travelling right now, I do not have access to my recovery cd s, so this partition was my only hope. I will come back in three weeks and meantime I will desparetely need my laptop and I wish I could repair it somehow. Can anyone please advise me what to do? Please..... |

Re: Dell 1100 windows restore
Thank you for advice, but I have already done it several times, no effect at all. The same thing with safe mode and with restore last known configuration.
it stays idle. I am writing from an internet coffee shop, and I might not come here for looking for problem, but i would like to find solution if possible asap. i cannot even download factory software from dell because of some stupid restrictions. I called to Dell, spent a lot of money but they held me all the time on line without answering my phoncall. I went to dell headerquarters in Toronto personally, and a guy at the reception told me that they are unable to help me and I will have to send it via post anyway. What a logic when I brought my notebook directly there.... omg, I am desparate. could you please upload on rapidshare drivers for mini 1100? i am travelling right now and I do not have access to my instalation CDs even if i reinstall my windows, I will not be able to download drivers, the dell site refuses my access. Lol, I have been using that NT for only few days. And dell is considered to be a good brand. *** is going on? |
