Safe Mode Problem

hi, I'm having a bit of a problem with XP, it boots normally and without problem under a normal boot. But under safemode it boots to the logon screen where just when it loads up the icons for me to login, it reboots. It happens with all three safemode options. Also before I get to this screen, during the black screen where it shows all the drivers being loaded I get an SPTD.sys load error. Please help!

My System

Re: Safe Mode Problem

I believe the problem can be caused by daemon tools. Uninstall and see if you can boot into safe mode ok

Re: Safe Mode Problem

Daemon Tools and Alcohol 120% and any other software you have installed that creates a Virtual CD drive (Power ISO?) need to be uninstalled.

Re: Safe Mode Problem

Thanks guys but I tried that and it's still rebooting. the last time I tried to boot into XP the SPTD.sys still appears after every virtual drive was removed.

Re: Safe Mode Problem

Hi, I found that by uninstalling SPTD using the the SPTD Layer installer/Uninstaller, no crash. Hope this helps anyone else. Mods please mark as closed/resolved.
