My System

XP shutting down on disk cleanup

Hi My laptop shuts down during compress old files on disk cleanup. I have followed the advise given in this thread and found a yellow warning sign on serial in the device manager. I couldn't get the BSOD to show up.

The errors in applications are as follows

41 Application Hang ID# 1002
Hanging application iexplore.exe, version 8.0.6001.18702, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.

1 Application Error ID# 1005 (This one I know my sd card from my camera was playing up)

Windows cannot access the file E:\DCIM\100PENTX\IMGP1287.jpg for one of the following reasons: there is a problem with the network connection, the disk that the file is stored on, or the storage drivers installed on this computer; or the disk is missing. Windows closed the program IMGP1287.jpg because of this error.

Program: IMGP1287.jpg
File: E:\DCIM\100PENTX\IMGP1287.jpg

The error value is listed in the Additional Data section.
User Action

2 Application Error ID# 1001

Fault bucket 1231531897.

14 Application Error ID# 1000

Faulting application dot1xcfg.exe, version 10.5.1.11, faulting module advapi32.dll, version 5.1.2600.5755, fault address 0x00016fdf.

The warnings in applications are as follows

284 SQL Browser ID# 3

The configuration of the AdminConnection\TCP protocol in the SQL instance MSSMLBIZ is not valid.

16 Userenv ID# 1517

Windows saved user UNKNOWN-B70D5BF\user registry while an application or service was still using the registry during log off. The memory used by the user's registry has not been freed. The registry will be unloaded when it is no longer in use.

This is often caused by services running as a user account, try configuring the services to run in either the LocalService or NetworkService account.

The errors in System are as follows

1 acpiec ID# 1

\Device\ACPIEC: The embedded controller (EC) hardware didn't respond within the timeout period. This may indicate an error in the EC hardware or firmware, or possibly a poorly designed BIOS which accesses the EC in an unsafe manner. The EC driver will retry the failed transaction if possible.

1 W32Time ID# 17

The name "MSHOME :1d" could not be registered on the Interface with IP address 192.168.1.66. The machine with the IP address 192.168.1.64 did not allow the name to be claimed by this machine.

2 Service Control Manager ID# 7011

Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from the avg8wd service.

The warnings in System are as follows

13 W32Time ID#36

The time service has not been able to synchronize the system time for 49152 seconds because none of the time providers has been able to provide a usable time stamp. The system clock is unsynchronized.

10 Tcpip ID# 4226

TCP/IP has reached the security limit imposed on the number of concurrent TCP connect attempts.

1 Dhcp ID# 1007

Your computer has automatically configured the IP address for the Network Card with network address 0012F06F7501. The IP address being used is 169.254.175.149

2 Dhcp ID# 1003

Your computer was not able to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP Server) for the Network Card with network address 0012F06F7501. The following error occurred:

Side from the compress function not working (which isn't recommended anyway), are you having any other issues?

Not that I am aware of......
Just out of curiosty can all the error logs be cleared and if so how do I go about doing that?
