hey guys,
i REALLLY need help with this one, my flash player is absolutley refusing to install and work right, i'm begining to think it might be a virus. it's like, i just got through doing a total reformat, like a smart person the very first thing i did after installing windows was to do all the updates i could get my hands on, and install anti-virus. i've scanned everything in the system, everything else is working except my flash player. what happens is, i open IE and the ActiveX pops up saying for me to run adobe flash player, i tell it to run, restart my browser and the next time i open it back, there goes ActiveX again. at first no website would detect the precence of it at all, but yet i can go into my installed programs and see it there, i followed adobe's advice and uninstalled it from the control panel, and downloaded it again. THIS time the player actually does work, i can go to youtube and watch videos all day, but yet ActiveX still keeps poping up and telling me to install it. ***? is this some kind of virus or not? |

Re: Adobe flash refusing to work
Hi, welcome to TSF
Check the settings in your security software and firewall to see if they are blocking scripts or ActiveX. Sometimes, even when Flash is correctly installed and working, websites will say it's an ActiveX or javascript problem when it's actually just a security setting that needs to be changed.

Re: Adobe flash refusing to work
OK,
i went through and checked all of my security settings, there's nothing keeping ActiveX from detecting flash player, it's quite obviously installed and working or i wouldn't be able to watch you tube videos right? could it have anything to do with IE? i prefer firefox anyway |
