Changing the name chosen upon Windows installation.
When Windows was initially installed on my PC many years ago, a rather insignificant, offensive name was entered for no certain reason whatsoever.
Although the User Account name has since been changed, and also in Registry Editor under 'RegisteredOwner' - I still have this name under C: > Documents and Settings. It won't allow me to change this name, understandably as I'm sure this would disrupt all paths linking through this folder. I have noticed however certain documents and files are being affected, such as Word files showing this name under the Author field. Does anyone know of anyway to change this name effectively? Without reformatting Many thanks |
