cannot open pdf files
i cant open pdf files and some attachments in my e-mail. ive removed & reinstalled acrobat reader to no avail,then i remembered i removed PC PITSTOP OPTIMIZE around the same time this started happening. any answers would be appreciated.
i have a gateway laptop w/xp media serv.pack 3. thank you for your time i seem to know just enough to get me in trouble |

when i click on the attachment nothing happens but in the status bar it says javascript. tried sys. restore but 80% of my desk top icons were missing.

Hello alcanman
Uninstall Adobe and install Foxit ( Free ). It will do all you need. What are the file extensions of the attachments? .

Be careful with pdf files. Some have javascript exploits. Adobe had to patch their reader a few times already. Run the adobe update tool to have the latest version, or switch to alternate readers like pdf xchange viewer (the one I use), or foxit reader.
I'd recommend doing an antivirus and antispyware scan with the latest definitions too just in case. |

thanks for the info, i removed adobe reader,installed foxit and still nothing. i ran my adaware & trend micro anti virus but found nothing. im a truck driver so i dont have a lot of time to get on my laptop,so i think im going to have to use a pc doctor. thank you all for your time and help, alcanman
