RUNDLL Error
My wife's computer gives the following error after booting into windows:
________________________________________ Error Loading C:\Windows\system32\jjleelvi.dll The Specified Module Could not be found. ________________________________________ This is not okay, but I have to click on "okay" anyway. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks, Alex. |

Re: RUNDLL Error
The file is most likely remnants of malware that is still partially loaded in startup.
Click Start > Run > type msconfig In msconfig go to the startup tab. If the .dll is listed remove the check. This may get rid of the error at startup. I also recommend that you visit the malware forum to have the system checked for malware. http://www.techsupportforum.com/secu...oval-help.html Follow the instructions on the above thread. After gathering the required logs post in that forum not back here and a member of the Security Team will assist you.

Re: RUNDLL Error
Thanks, Makin. I tried the msconfig thing. I unchecked the jjleelvi.dll file, and I also unchecked something in startup which had a weird file name and looked suspicious. Then I rebooted. When the computer booted up, the jjleelvi error was gone, but a new thing popped up, and it said this:
"You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows starts. "The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run every time Windows starts. "Choose the Normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility. "(check box) Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts." What should I do, click the check box? Is it bad to have your System Configuration Utility permanently on Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode? I don't know what this means.... why is it trying to strong-arm me into reversing the changes I made? |

Re: RUNDLL Error
It's a warning that you changed the boot file. If you are sure that you don't need the file in question, open regedit, search on that file name (should only find one or possibly two registry keys), and then delete those keys from the registry. (That's the permanent fix for what you already did in the config file).

Re: RUNDLL Error
You can check the box its no big deal. Every time you change somthing with msconfig that message will appear the next time you start up. I always check it so it doesn't pop up everytime I start windows.

Re: RUNDLL Error
There should be a checkbox that states "Dont show again" just select it.
Anytime you make changes to through msconfig it will give you this dialogue informing you that changes were made. I also recommend that you follow the rest of the instructions in my previous post to ensure that the system is clear of any malware that may still be on the system
