Opening JPG pictures with Outlook Express
Recently, outlook express does not allow me to open JPG files in outlook express. I do not have the same problem as other threads where Kodak has taken over. When trying to open the file from the preview pane, I do not get an error message or anything. I click on the file and nothing happens. If I actually open the email and select open or double click on the JPG attachment, nothing.
I was thinking it had something to do IE8 update, but can't seem to find anything on it. Yes, I can save the file to my hard drive then open it, but it may be just a picture I would like to view and not have to delete once viewed. Any thoughts? Thanks. |

Re: Opening JPG pictures with Outlook Express
thank you for that suggestion, but I do have my system set up to open with the correct viewer. I also have gone through the reg to make sure .jpe .jpeg .jpg are all correct.
When I say nothing happens, I mean, there is no error message nothing. It is like I never clicked the image attachement. Using Outlook Express 6 btw. |

Re: Opening JPG pictures with Outlook Express
OK, I found a fix that works. Not sure why, but it is because of IE8. Anyone having the same problems as me use these steps to revert back to IE7 and that should do the trick:
Carefully select and then copy the following command: %windir%\ie8\spuninst\spuninst.exe Click Start, and then click Run. In the Open box, type Cmd.exe, and then press ENTER. Right-click inside the Cmd.exe window, and then click Paste to paste the command that you copied in step 1. Press ENTER to uninstall Internet Explorer 8. When the uninstall program is finished, restart your computer |
