Mouse/Keyboard not functioning
I'm looking at someone's computer, and I've plugged in my usb mouse / keyboard and while the keyboard works fine during bootup, it doesn't once it comes to the XP signon screen, nor does the mouse. I've plugged them into every usb slot and rebooted a few times and nothing!

Re: Mouse/Keyboard not functioning
depending on the make and model, you may need to download a driver from the manufacturers web site

Re: Mouse/Keyboard not functioning
Go into the Device Manager and see if there are any yellow marks for the USB Controller. Are any other USB devices recognized?

Re: Mouse/Keyboard not functioning
Try a flash drive in Windows to see if it is recognized. go into the Device Manager (Start/Run and type devmgmt.msc) and make sure Universal Serial Bus is listed and there are no yellow marks. If not then Make sure USB is enabled in the Bios.
