File Joiners

I recently re-installed Windows XP Professional on my computer. Previously I had been able to use either FFSJ or HJ Split, whenever I needed to join files. Since the re-installation of XP, neither software recognizes split files. FFSJ prompts me to separate the parts further, but when I try to join, neither program even shows the part files to be in the folder. What should I do?

try uninstalling reboot and reinstalling.
